New Straightner

So with the shorter haircut, I bought one of those small straightners, hoping it might save me some days from the blow dryer.  Well, it won't fix roots that have gone astray (read bed head) but it does make for a really sleek look.  It's only a very slight difference from not straightned, but as it gets longer, I think it will show more.

Now the call goes out to all you ladies.  Are you growing out your hair?  Did you donate recently?  I was thinking it would be fun to have people send in their ideas for cute short hair or those in-between grow out tips so that people who are considering donating their hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths can get tips.  What do you think?  Have something to share?  Send it to 100hairstyles@gmail.com

Looking forward to it!

Curling Iron Envy

Just cause I have short hair, it's no reson to neglect my curling iron, don't you think?

Recognition

I can't believe I did this, but I forgot to thank the ladies who came out to support the event on Saturday!

Thanks Ladies!  You turned a haircut into an event!

There's Missy (& Rita of course...)

And her girls Jac & Taylor

And Danette - who stayed behind the camera for the whole thing.  So I'll have to post a pic from our holiday party...

More Inspiration

And the pictures keep coming in of people who donated to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths this weekend!

Lisa, a cancer survivor, says:
Well here's some pics from my parents phone. Feel free to post any 1 or all :) I will put some b4 & after photo's up soon since my hair is naturally curly but my last profile pic was with it straight.

P.S. Isn't amazing how light your head feels after a cut like that?? :)

Look at all that hair!!

Beautiful Cut!

Pantene's going to be happy with all that hair!

And Molly, who donated in honor of my Aunt and Grandmother who are both Breast Cancer survivors, shows off her new look.

Before

Wow!

And a donator in Atlanta says:
Hi -- I just saw your hair cut photo -- it's beautiful -- the cut and the generosity it represents.

I live in Atlanta and discovered your blog yesterday morning. I have twice donated my hair to Beautiful Lengths in the past 5 years and was considering doing it for a third time next week. Your blog was the tipping point -- I got my hair cut yesterday and my donation pony tail is on its way to someone whom, I hope, will find it comforting as she works on cancer treatment. So, thanks! Enjoy your new cut!

Great work ladies!!!

Bye Bye Hair!

Here it is... the last hairstyle before the cut.  I know, it's boring, but you're not supposed to have styling products when you donate, plus - gotta show the length, right?

Tommorow's the Day!

So with tomorrow being the big cut, I thought some more inspiration was due...

Katie in Dallas, Tx says "I am not my hair" and it will grow back! It's such an amazing feeling giving someone a gift like that.

Heather also donated her hair on Jan 28 for her birthday!  What a birthday present!

4 days left... Inspiration

Sorry "y'all" something went wrong with the previous post...  try again.

So in the days leading up to the cut, I think inspiration is appropiate. We've had a few women donate so far, so I'll be posting those pics. There are 2 of you who posted to the event page, I will be posting those pics to the blog in the next couple days, so if you want to include a write up, send it to 100hairstyles@gmail.com and I'll post it with your pics. Donna sent in her story, below. Look at that happy smile - must be the good feeling from doing such a great thing!

Your hair looks great!!

I know it's taken forever for me to get these to you, I apologize! Okay, so it's only been since Friday. That's forever for me! I've included 2 before shots, front and back, and a couple of after shots - just choose your faves to post!!

I'd also love for you to post the name of my fabulous stylist, Larissa Detwiler of Choppers Salon in Childress, Texas. She's coaxed and babied me these past years while I've grown my hair out, and she did a terrific job on my cut! My ponytails ended up being 9" long! Woo HOOO!!

If it's worth doing, it's worth doing in slow motion with the wind in your hair.

5 Days to go!

In the week leading up to a big cut like this weekend, I usually will wear my hair down almost exclusively. It helps to make the cut more dramatic, cause the hair looks so long leading up to it. This morning however, I was struck by the fancy to wear a curly side ponytail & decided to "fancy" it up with a braid.
