Day 79 - Danette's Poufy Pony

So Danette was shopping & found this tool called the "Poufy Pony"  It's basically a comb you stick in your ponytail to give it "poufiness"

Only problem is that the hair doesn't stay all the way put on top of the comb

We thought maybe some teasing or hairspray might help next time.

Here's the comb.

I also used the full & thick Mousse from Pantene again.  I think one of the upcoming hairstyles will be a volumized blow-out.  You can't tell from these picture, but it really does add a lot of volume.

Day 74 - Tyra, Tyra, Tyra

I was watching ANTM the other day and saw this cute look on the finalists.

It made me think, I wonder if Tyra would be interested in the idea of having a hair marathon to support Pantene's Beautiful Lengths?  If you watch her show, she's always chaging her hair.  Look at her site http://tyrashow.warnerbros.com/ and you can see that in a week's worth of shows, there are no hair repeats...  hmm... I'm persistant, maybe she would be interested.  Think about it.  There could be a show with say 6 donators (that's how many it takes to make a wig) who cut their hair that day.  Maybe she could even invite a woman who's fighting cancer & surprise her with a wig from ACS on the show...  I would watch.

Anyway, here's how my style turned out.  And of course, I smized...

To Donate Your Hair

You've decide to donate your hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths? Great! Now what do you do?

1) Make sure it meets the requirements.  If not, please see the other ways you can help the marathon.

2) RSVP via Facebook, Evite or by commenting on the blog. When you RSVP, let me know your location. If you're in the South Jersey, Deleware, Pennsylvania tri-state area, we can donate together at In The Village (http://www.inthevillage.com/)  I'll keep you posted on how to make an appointment. If you're not in the area, make an appointment at your normal salon for February 20, 2010

3) Take care of your hair. Keep it conditioned, keep it trimmed, and don't bleach or dye it. For more information see Pantene's site.

4) On February 20, get your hair cut. Take a before picture, take a picture of geting the cut & take a picture of your cut new style & the ponytail. It'd be great to see these on the event page.

5) Send the ponytail to:
100 Hairstyles c/o
Pantene Beautiful Lengths

New Richmond, WI 54017-2613

6) Give yourself a pat on the back. You've done a great thing!

Day 29 - Sheila's Croissant

Sheila - this one's for you... John thought it looked nice ;-)

The bangs are just held back by bobby pins.  As Danette says, I can "do magic with bobby pins!"

Day 24 - Knotted Side noodle

I like the hair from the front & side, but not so sure about the back.   I thought the french braid in the back would be good for keeping those shorter hairs in place (which worked well) but I think it looks a little off...

day 21 - right hand blue left foot red (twister)

OK - here's the real pics...

It's a little messy, I know, but I was in a hurry & going to a walk to benefit Myeloma Research (Donate here: http://321cure.themmrf.org/site/TR/RaceforResearch/General?px=1297861&pg=personal&fr_id=1091).  Had to be out of the house by 7 on a Saturday, so I was glad to thik of this easy style.

Here's how:

Make two braids about where you want the bun.

Twist one braid clockwise & wrap around the other ponytail.   Secure with pins.

Twist the second braid counter-clockwise around the first poytail & tuck under the first braid.

Simple!  Only wished I would have had this tip from Glamour Magazine:

Day 16 - Three Strikes for a Bun

Saw this one on Glamour Magazine's website.  Tip 1 I think.

Day 11

Usually I take a picture at the beginning of the day, but I didn't have my camera this morning, so the wear & tear of a day shows in the picture.  Either way, it's nice to have (most of) my hair off my face for the day, with a non-ponytail.

Day 10

There's not a name yet for this one... Simple & easy, I'm getting the hang of the bangs to the side.

Day 9 - Punky (Brewster) with a Crimp

This is one of my favorite finds of a hairstyle.  To get the waves, I take a small section of hair & twist it tightly.  Then I flatiron it while it's twisted & move onto the next piece while the first cools down.  I look like I have dreds when I'm done!  Then I shake it all out and voila! waves.

Missing...

I have 2 more hairstyles to post, today & yesterday, but I forgot my camera at my dad's!  bummer.  I'll load both tomorrow.

Since I can't add a picture, I'll mention an idea I had for the blog.  I want to get in touch with a hair donation charity (like Pantene Beautiful Lengths) to see if they will help me add a charity aspect to the website.  That way maybe people could "sponser" my hair marathon!  I need to try to call them, but it's only during work hours that they're open.

Here's the site for their charity:
http://pantene.com/en-US/beautiful_lengths.jspx

The nice thing is that you only need 8" to donate here.  I hope I can get them to help me raise money for them, it would make this a lot more fun!  And, wouldn't it be cool if the last (100th) hairstyle was my new short do after the donation!!

Vacation

So I went on vacation for the past week into the Adirondcks.  Had a blast, but it's not exactly the place where you spend a lot of time on hairstyles.  I've uploaded a few of the styles from the vacation, along with a picture or two of the places we went, but I'll be back into the count on Monday!
